Justice League: Throne of Atlantis
Good animation but stifled of time to tell its story whilst making some rough decisions around plot points means this is a low point in the DC:AU.
Lovable as ever, with plenty of laughs and heart, but I can't quite stop questioning what it actually brings to the franchise.
Spider-Man: Far From Home
A fun, grounded, and often charming take on Spider-Man that does a whole lot to also move the MCU forward. Top marks.
A surprisingly self-aware romp with two excellent actors having a lot of fun, paired with a plot that was surprisingly not awful. A solid attempt.
The perfect blend of quirkiness, nostalgia, music, and charm. It doesn't push any boundaries but what it does do, it does incredibly well. A guaranteed mood lifter!
Dull, bland, boring, and somehow actively worse than the trailer. Just skip it.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
A largely pointless entry to a franchise that appears to have run out of ideas. Its sole purpose is to set up a sequel that sounds awful.
The World of King: A Natural History of Skull Island
The gold standard for creature design tie-in books, with heaps of fantastic ideas and some solid speculative evolution work.
Fantastic Beasts: The Art of the Film
A beautiful collection of concept art and creature design, though lacking in substance beyond the pretty pictures.
It’s a Dirk Pitt novel. That should tell you everything you need to know, except this one has a more interesting villain than normal.
A clear prototype for what would become the long running Dirk Pitt series with little of novel interest. A page turner, nothing more.
Bill Bryson’s African Diary
Funny and informative, plus all for a good cause. Can’t really complain.
