A competent story wrapped up in some very fun gags and a heap of Christmas cheer.

Prep & Landing

Someone at Disney had a fun idea about Christmas elves. It had just enough charm to pique the interest, but too little depth or originality to make into a movie. And thus, Prep & Landing was born 😁

The result is looking a little visually dated, but the quirky charm and surprisingly solid humour still land perfectly well. I honestly thought this was going to be a complete dud; the kind of easy-animation, churn-it-out, direct-to-DVD nonsense that Disney has a tendency to use purely to scrape the last few dollars out of parents' wallets, but I was wrong.

It's not about to win any awards, but as a quick dose of Christmas spirit, it's enjoyable enough.

Naughty vs. Nice

Similar to their first outing, this is a fun, quirky, Christmas-cheer-filled romp, now with a clear focus on sibling rivalry and familial bonds. It has the same oddball, surprisingly effective humour, and the same wink-nod moments for adults. Perhaps it is a little less original as a result, but all-in-all, a decent follow-up/expansion. Perfect for "watching" whilst you're decorating a Christmas tree 😉
