Currently, both myself and my partner are looking into replacing
our mobile phones (her slightly more urgently). As a result, we're
both quite deep in the mire of tech reviews, contract comparisons

So I've owned a set of Logitech z4 2.1 desk speakers for about
five years now, ever since a good friend of mine effectively gave
them to me because they couldn't fit in his car. They remain one of

Just stumbled onto a recent analysis of the current generation,
top end iMac (2016) and an equivalent cost (~$4,000) custom built

CSS? Fonts? Italics? Sidebars? What witchcraft is this?
Is this not theAdhocracy, the home of plain HTML and nothing more

Month in media is an archived project, now with a permanent home in the Reviews section. Films, TV shows, books, video games, and other media watched, read, or played in December 2016.
Edit (21/05/18): Due to an issue with Yahoo, I
no longer have access to the Flickr account linked below. If you're

Yes, I am one of those irritating people that have decided to
resurrect an audio format that, by all rights, should be long
extinct. And, further yes, I'm also now going to complain about my

I've recently been spending a lot of time researching, and
ultimately buying, a new camera. From an outsider perspective it
might seem a little odd, as I already have a very good DSLR that,

I've had my current Sony Xperia for nearly three years, which is
a good run, but it's definitely starting to show its age. First of

I'm a pretty big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it
felt a bit ridiculous when I was given Guardians of the Galaxy:

It's that odd time of year, the bit between Christmas and New

From the traditional to the modern "nu-folk", we certainly had a great spread of styles, instruments and traditions. Some might even say it was folk'ing awesome!
A look back and a look forward... it must be the start of a new year. 2019 held a lot of change and personal improvement, but I can't help but feel that 2020 is going to be a big one. So what exactly do I have planned and what am I hoping for the next 12 months?
The Sigma 150-600 Contemporary has been on my shortlist as the wildlife lens to get for some time. Today, it left that shortlist... and entered my camera bag! Whilst I can't go out and test it on actual wildlife right now, I have been taking some test shots around the house.
I'm a big fan of projects looking to archive information of
endangered species, particularly quality images, biomechanics and
video, so that if conservation efforts fail future generations

We've been in Cumbria now for more than long enough to know we

I'm a proud owner of an LG V20, despite the phone's age. With LG's sudden decision to exit the mobile phone market, I've been thinking about why I love this phone, and what I'll do now if it ever dies.
A very thorough overview of how to write a modern, performant,
